ˈrākē
noun: reiki
  1. a healing technique based on the principle that the therapist can channel energy into the patient by means of touch, to activate the natural healing processes of the patient’s body and restore physical and emotional well-being.
Origin

Japanese, literally ‘universal life energy.’

Reiki is not affiliated with any religious order, but, instead has been recognized by ALL religions under different names.
Christians know it as the ‘Holy Spirit’.
Buddha used Reiki
Jesus used Reiki
Reiki is spoken of in the Tanakh, Bible, Qur’an, Bhagavad Gita, Sutras and Egyptian Heiroglyphs.
It is the ‘Universal Life Energy’ that flows around and within us. The Human design is both an antennae and source for these energies. Our body has many energy centers that can close to these energies based upon our life and lifestyle.
A Reiki practitioner works to open these energy centers and facilitate the flow of the healing ‘Universal Life Energy’. A Reiki practitioner who is very attuned to the energies will give those who need healing a boost of these energies. But, ultimately, a Reiki practitioner will help those who need healing maintain a proper flow of this ‘Universal Life Energy’.
